Something is happening. You can feel it in the messages landing in the inbox, in the diary filling up faster than we can quite keep track of, and in the way this August suddenly looks less like a run of gigs and more like a launchpad. When we sat down at the start of the year, the plan was simple. Plant seeds for 2027, put the work in quietly, and build something that would come good down the line. Well. Those seeds have grown fast.
It starts on 7 August at Charlie's Loft in Milngavie, right on Glasgow's doorstep, and from there the month barely pauses for breath. On 15 August we step up to a main stage slot at the Ultimate Festival in Dumfries, then it is straight down to Yorkshire for Tribfest, one of the biggest tribute festivals in the country. After that we are back home for a main stage set at Musicfest in Uddingston. Four shows, four very different rooms, all inside a few short weeks.
And it keeps building. Barely a month goes by now without another date landing, another promoter getting in touch, another 'can you do this one' turning into a yes. Grace's in Glasgow, The Hive in Edinburgh, dates rolling deep into 2027 across Scotland, the Borders, Cumbria and beyond. The map is filling in, and it is filling in fast.
That is the thing about seeds. You plant them without really knowing which ones will take, and then one summer you look up and the whole thing is in bloom at once. This year was supposed to be the groundwork for next. Instead it has turned into a season all of its own, and 2027 is already shaping up to be bigger than anything we let ourselves imagine back in January.
We are not going to pretend we know exactly where this goes. But standing here in August, with the shows stacking up and the crowds getting louder, there is a feeling in the camp that is hard to shake. Something is about to take off.
