On 7 August we bring the broadcast to Charlie's Loft in Milngavie, and we could not be more excited about it. There is something about that room. It has a vibe and an atmosphere all of its own, the kind of place where a night can catch fire the moment the lights drop. Over the past few years the venue has hosted world renowned DJs and some seriously good live acts, and now it is our turn to plug in and light it up.
It is a special one for another reason too. Charlie's Loft sits just a short hop from Glasgow, which means a lot of our local friends and family and local U2 fans can finally get along to a show without a long trek. If you have been waiting for a date on your doorstep, this is the one.
And then there is the homecoming. Our own T-Bono, Martin, used to own a clinic right across the road from Charlie's, so walking back onto that street to play a gig feels like a sort of homecoming. Familiar ground, old haunts, and now a stage to stand on. We cannot wait.
Expect the full U2.V2 experience. This promises to be a night packed with energy and full of emotion, the big anthems and the quiet moments, played the way they were meant to be heard. Doors are at 7pm and it is an 18+ show.
